Product Category: Auxiliary Equipment
Once a plant runs 110 mm or 120 mm single-screw lines continuously, cooling demand stops being an afterthought. The VihoX 80 Ton tower is sized for exactly that middle ground: 62.6 m³/h of nominal circulation, which absorbs the combined load of an extruder barrel, a three-roll calender and several mould stations running at the same time.
The 80T relies on a 1.5 kW axial fan delivering 27,000 m³/h across the fill. Blade diameter can be specified between roughly 1150 mm and 1470 mm depending on the airflow target, and the slower tip speed that comes with the larger sweep keeps noise below the level of most extruders. Water leaves through a rotary sprinkler assembly over PVC fill, and an integrated basin with automatic float control returns every drop it can.
Performance figures hold for a 5 °C range across the tower, inlet at 37 °C and outlet at 32 °C, evaluated at a 27 °C design wet-bulb. Confirm your site climate so the frame size stays correct.
| Key Datum | VihoX 80T Specification | Why It Matters in Production |
|---|---|---|
| Nominal water flow | 62.6 m³/h | Sized for 110 mm and 120 mm single-screw lines |
| Design pump flow | 65.73 m³/h | Keeps velocity healthy through a shared manifold |
| Fan rated power | 1.5 kW | Modest draw despite the larger air volume |
| Air volume handled | 27,000 m³/h | Improved approach compared with the 60T frame |
| Blade diameter | Approx. 1150 to 1470 mm | Larger sweep lowers rotational speed and noise |
| Port dimensions | DN100 | Suits the flow without excessive pressure drop |
| Net mass | Approx. 260 kg | Still a single-piece lift for a small crane |
| Service mass | Approx. 1,280 kg | Check mezzanine loading if mounted above grade |
| Footprint | Approx. Ø2145 × H2040 mm | Taller body, same diameter class as the 60T |
| Matching pump | 7.5 kW centrifugal | Duty point to be confirmed against pipe routing |
A 7.5 kW pump covers the design flow of 65.73 m³/h at the recommended 20 to 30 m head. Because the 80T often feeds a three-roll stack and a mould manifold simultaneously, we recommend a header with balancing valves so that neither circuit sees a temperature swing when the other changes duty.
Not if that line runs continuously with a calender and several moulds. If only one circuit is active, the 60T is usually the better economic choice.
Blade size is matched to the required airflow at order stage, so the figure spans the standard options available for this frame.
Yes. The default is 380 V, 50 Hz, three phase, and alternative supplies can be built on request.
Fit balancing valves on each branch and commission them once at start-up with a clamp-on flow meter.
Inspect it each shutdown for scale and remove any debris; a partly blocked head causes uneven wetting and raises approach temperature.
Dust tends to collect on the louvers rather than inside the pack. Wiping the louvers periodically keeps the air path clear.
It can, if the room has enough ventilation to reject the heat the tower releases. Otherwise keep it outdoors or in a well-louvered bay.
Standard frames leave our Shenzhen works within the lead time quoted on your order; ask your VihoX contact for the current schedule.
Give us the extruder barrel power, calender roll diameter and how many moulds run in parallel, and our team will verify whether 62.6 m³/h carries your duty with margin. You may also want to compare our auxiliary equipment range and cup making machines that use the same cooling approach.

Plants running this frame usually add a 10HP air-cooled chiller for the circuits that need accuracy, with air supplied by a 30HP PM VSD compressor. The underlying heat load comes from sheet extrusion lines with three-roll calender stacks.
